Happy Tuesday!

Today is my turn on the PATCHWORK GIFTS Blog Tour! This book by my friend Elise Baek brings us a wide range of different styles and sewing techniques. You’ll find English paper piecing, foundation paper piecing, traditional piecing; projects with templates, and with no templates; small projects and even a quilt! Elise is such a detailed person and she truly outdid herself with this wonderful book.

I spent a long time just trying to decide which project to make first. They are all beautiful, the kind of things that I want to have and that I feel comfortable jumping into, even if it presents methods I’m not super familiar with.

I decided to start with the Mug Rug, all those tiny flying geese looked so pretty!

I’m one of those quilters that really want my points to match, and it’s really easy with the help of the paper templates.

That’s another thing I love about this book: you find the templates, when needed, either on the same pages as the instructions or right after, saving us the effort of having to go and look for them at the end of the book. We all know that small gestures of convenience go a long way for projects like these!

I really like how the pink and teal look together here, I changed a little the fabric placement and love the result!

A simple binding to finish it up, just a few yellow specs on white.

This is a book to get inspired, to try new techniques, and to really take your time to enjoy a lovely piece of handwork.

The projects are a pleasure to make and gift, and why not, to keep to yourself too! It is a wonderful book that makes you want to look at every page and get eager to create!
