Paper Hearts Quilt - Scrappy Version

I’m so exited to share with you my new quilt pattern: Paper Hearts!

The whole idea behind it was to bring back that childlike delight of cutting out valentines with safety scissors and drowning them in glitter glue and cheesy rhymes.

In fact, one of my favorite things about the quilt you’ll see in these pictures is that all those prints, solids, threads, are from different collections, lines, brands. I just picked prints I liked, paired them with a matching solid, and just like that, I had my design.

Of course, this is only one of many ways you could approach this quilt. You can go for all solids, with a nice light to dark shade contrast, you could play with low and high volume prints, contrasting or complimentary colors! Since each half heart is only one piece of the main fabric, you don’t have to worry about cutting your treasured prints.

As always, there are no Y seams. I never use Y seams because I never want to make you guys do something that I don’t like doing myself! Instead, you’re going to be nesting seams like a pro. ;)

Now it does use the 4-in-1 Hexie ruler BUT you don’t need it to make this pattern; it comes with templates. (I think you should get it beccause it’s awesome and you can use it to make a bunch of other quilts like Hexie Square, Hexie Bunch and Jolly Tree, but that’s up to you).

Anyway, that’s Paper Hearts! This applies to all my patterns, but if you do make it, you would absolutely make my day by sending me a picture; I love posting them to my stories to brag about you guys.
Happy quilting!
