Poppie Cotton is back with more super cute designs. As always, they have really nice filler prints and spectacular feature fabric that I can fussy cut! Look at those houses and tell me you don’t want to open up the teeny little door and live inside! What better fussy-cut-friendly pattern than Hexie Fun to show this collection off?

You know, having come home just recently from Market, plus juggling the new bundle and ruler, I just wanted to sit down with where I started: a single block of my very first pattern.
Read MoreBy now, I have so many quilts and cushions that my kids filled a nook with them and called it the “Cozy Corner”. But will that stop me? Of course not! Let’s make that Cozy Corner cozier! Aurifil dropped the second edition of their 8wt threads and I was sent five gorgeous colors for my project, so I made a cushion using one block of my Polaris pattern.
Read MoreHello, everyone! You all know I love sharing tips and ideas and mishaps with you all the time, but this time it’s time for some solid life advice (for the ladies who read my blog): get screened for breast cancer, and do it regularly.
Read MoreNo one will gasp in surprise when I say that I love Liberty Tana Lawn fabrics, they check all the boxes: the prints, the texture, even the vibe, it’s all marvelous. And if you were in my studio, you would find more than one drawer full of Aurifil threads, so working with both of these in one project has been a dream.

Let me present to you the 2024 Kona color of the year: Julep. It’s a pale blue-green, like a less leafy mint tone. My instant thought was to shallow ocean water on a dream-worthy beach. Corolla is back again and cuter than ever, thanks to the Hollyhock Lane line from Poppie Cotton. The pastels obviously make for a sugary sweet vibe, but the unexpectedly dark teals and grays set this color palette apart, making the final product unusually vivid instead of somewhat washed out.
Okay, I know I’ve talked about Heart Bits before on the blog, but you guys, look at how much it pops with this fabric line!
As you may know, Heart Bits is a pattern that excels at showing off all kinds of prints, both letting small designs mesh together and bigger ones shine individually.
Read MoreThe first time I saw the Coco line, I felt that wonderful/terrible duality of creators: I liked my source material so much, that I knew I’d struggle to find a project I felt was worthy of it.
Just look at all the vibrant colors and the subtle texture of this line: so many possibilities! So how did I make up my mind?
Read MoreBy picking and aligning strips of the same print, I’ve created the lattice illusion. I had some fun with it and played around with the width of the lines, giving the eye more to see. To save you time and tears, though, we use strip piecing!

Every now and then, I’ll come across a fabric that isn’t just aesthetically pleasing, but so darling that I just have to create a project to display it. Take a look at these storybook children, gentle animals, and encouraging words; how could I resist?
Since our new normal seems to be the only normal we’ll be getting for a while, I took a break from making quilts and wanted a smaller project that I could make in one sitting.
